"Suddenly he was gone and I felt completely alone. Having someone outside family and friends to talk to really helped a lot."

Bereavement is a shattering experience
The death of someone close can affect you in several ways - emotionally, physically, socially and in many practical areas of your life. It can present you with one of the greatest challenges you will ever have to face.

Purpose of Cruse Bereavement Care
Cruse Bereavement Care is here to promote the well-being of bereaved people and to enable anyone bereaved by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss, regardless of age, race, religion, disability, gender or sexual preference.

How Cruse helps bereaved people ...
Cruse offers personal and confidential help to bereaved people and those who care for them through:

  • Counselling - the opportunity to talk through feelings in confidence with a trained counsellor who meets individually with a bereaved person once or many times

  • Groups - which offer bereaved people the chance to talk with others in similar circumstances

  • Information on many aspects of bereavement, including practical and financial matters

  • Training, support, information and publications for Cruse volunteers and people in other organisations working to care for bereaved people.

In addition, Cruse works in the interests of bereaved people by increasing public awareness of their needs through education and information services and campaigning.

Is Cruse a religious organisation? No. Cruse is open to people of all faiths and none.

Does Cruse charge for its services? No charge is made for personal counselling.
